As the 75th began to gather for the night we could see that Longuyon was under a heavy attach by Axis forces. # brigades of them to be exact. Wequickly logged on a look for sappers in Longuyon with which to attack the enemy FBs. But none were available.

We decided to make a suicide run to the Longuyon-Longwy FB. This run would not allow for a mobile spawn and with only 4 sappers to work with it was going to take a great amount of skill and a little luck. The skill we had, luck would remain to be seen.

So we set off in our Betty with 4 sappers. We needed to end around the enemy strong hold of Longwy and work our way to the FB. This proved to be not difficult but time consuming and time in Longuyon was running short.

Our 4 brave sappers were dropped off about 1.5 k north of their target. Kew took command of the group. Leading this elite force to the FB was his responsibility and he would not fail. Getting the force to the FB safely was not an easy task. The enemy was guarding closely.

But the men made it to the FB in one piece. As they set up for there attach run assignments were handed out. Kew would take the vehicle while Jaws909 Moffit35 and Dalzielx would focus on the infantry tents. As the men quietly whispered prayers to themselves the Go order was given. For the next few minutes chaos was the ruler of the FB.

When the smoke cleared and the damage was assessed it was clear that mission, although successful had fallen just little short. We still need one charge to be placed on the Vehicle spawn to complete our job.

The 75th being who we are decided to try the nearly impossible task of
para jumping a heavily guarded FB in order to steal it from the enemy? This is nearly impossible considering the odds. The FB had up several Anti-Aircraft weapons. There were enemy planes over head and enemy infantry on the ground to shot up at the jumpers as they made there way down to the FB.

As the jumpers climbed on board the aircraft there was an air of confidence that most people would not dare to have in such a situation. This group knew they were going to make it.

When the drop zone was reached and Coldwind gave the jump command the fun really began.Nero316, Moffit35, Kew, Dalzielx, Jaws909 and Eurogeek were off to either die or claim glory. There were enemy planes buzzing around trying to kill them as they descended on the FB. There was AAA fire going off all around them. Enemy infantry were frantically there weapons at the para from the ground. But the men were not stopped. They kept focused on the target. That focus allowed 5 men to land on top of the enemy vehicle spawn and take it down before the enemy could say "oh shit".

Great job to all involved. A masterful take down to say the least.

This show of skill was then followed up by a defense of our newly acquired Longoyun-Longwy FB. A perimeter was quickly setup and the men were ready for action. And action they would have. The enemy came first with 3 separate MSP's from 3 different directions. It was the teamwork and skill of the 75th which kept wave after wave of Axis infantry. From get close to the tents. Time and again they came and time and again they died.

Even when the Axis decided to surround the the FB with enemy tanks the 75th held strong. We had little or no anti-tank weapons but the squad would not say die. We continued to fight off the enemy infantry that made their way to the tents under cover of heavy tank fire. Sure they got a few charges on out FB but we held them off long enough for some friendly air, sappers and tanks to take out the enemy tanks and lighten our burden.

Even after the huge failure of their tank assault the Axis forces continued to come after our FB. But once again the 75th quickly tightened our death grip on the area. No forces got in for the remainder of the night. Al the while allowing friendly forces in Longuyon to regain control of the city.

After suffering huge losses in an attempt to recapture the FB coming out of Longwy the Axis were forced to withdraw their attack upon Longoyun. The city was saved in large part due to the efforts of the 75th guards.
Congrats to the member of the squad who made this night a success. Coldwind, Kew, Jaws909, Dalzielx, Eurogeek, Hawker, Poton, Rook12, and Mofit35. Great Job everyone!!

With all the flak and infantry running around, it was incredible that the paras made it to the ground.

Nice move brining in the sappers from the FB to the north. Using paras to finish it off was also a gutsy move, nice job. Very well done Smile

Just seeing all of us drop on that FB Veh Spawn at the same time solidified why I enjoy playing with each of you. The shock value for the defenders of that FB had to of been super high when out of no-where a well trained and disciplend group of paras all land on top of the veh spawn as though we were going on a picknick.

It was an proud moment for all of us and a memory that none of us will ever forget. And I look forward to many more great times together!

kew

btw, no spell check?
